Stage combat is a specialized movement style developed for theatre and film to create the illusion of physical combat without causing any harm to the performers. This is an active art form that focuses on safety, technique, and control. This course is designed to be a hands-on introduction to stage combat with a rapier (examples found in I Hate Hamlet, Three Musketeers, The Princess Bride, and Romeo & Juliet). Participants will learn the basics of how to fight with a rapier, parts of a sword, how to stage a fight, and produce their own creative spar.
