Fall Readers Theater & Studio Series
About the Shows & Characters
Jacob Marley’s Christmas (Full Length - Studio Series, Price)
By: Tom Mula
What happens to Ebenezer Scrooge’s mean, sour, pruney old business partner after the original story ends? Chained and shackled, Jacob Marley is condemned to a hellish eternity. He’s even given his own private tormentor: a malicious little hell-sprite who thoroughly enjoys his work. Desperate, Marley accepts his one chance to free himself: to escape his own chains, he must first redeem Scrooge. So begins a journey of laughter and terror, redemption and renewal, during which Scrooge’s heart, indeed, is opened, but not before Marley – in this irreverent, funny and deeply moving story – discovers his own.

Readers Series
The Readers Theater brings characters to life with nothing more than their voices, expressions, and a few simple gestures. There are no sets or costumes, just a comfortable evening of imagination and stories that are worth discovering.
Studio Theater Series
The Studio Theater series features staged readings that highlight strong writing and skilled performances in an intimate setting. Presented in our black box spaces, these readings focus on story, character, and conversation rather than full production elements. The result is a close, engaging experience where audiences connect directly with the text and the artists bringing it to life.
Content/Intimacy Notice
The Readers Theater series may contain stronger themes, which are per play. The Studio Series: Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol contains themes of death, after-death, trauma, abuse, and descriptions of after-death torment.
Some intimate moments may include:
- non-romantic/non-violent male-to-male physical contact
- non-romantic/non-violent male and female physical contact
- non-romantic/non-violent female-to-female physical contact
Consent-forward intimacy staging will be part of any rehearsal involving these scenes. If you have concerns you would like to discuss, contact Cole at [email protected]. Concerns or limitations with any of the above material will not affect your consideration for the roles.
