Content/Intimacy Notice

Hello Dolly contains very mild profanity and consumption of wine during dinner.  There are also references to sexism that reflects 1890s historical gender roles, and features comedic slapstick physical comedy.

Some intimate moments may include:

  • romantic/non-violent male and female kissing,
  • romantic/non-violent male and female physical contact
  • non-romantic/non-violent male to male physical contact
  • non-romantic/non-violent male and female physical contact
  • non-romantic/non-violent female to female physical contact

Consent-forward intimacy staging will be part of any rehearsal involving these scenes.  If you have concerns you would like to discuss, contact Cole at [email protected].  Concerns or limitations with any of the above material will not affect your consideration for the roles.

The Audition:

Please plan to be there for 1.5-2 hours. The audition process is time-consuming and we will do our best to stay on schedule.

For auditions, we ask you to sing 32 bars (about a minute's worth) of a song from a Golden Age musical. A pianist will be available, and we encourage sheet music, but you are welcome to have a non-vocal backing track. There will be a speaker and an aux cord in the room to use.  The singing audition will take about 30 minutes per group.

Once you are done singing, you will head upstairs to the 3rd Floor for the dance audition.  We suggest you bring dance shoes (jazz, character, tennis shoes) and a change of clothes if you want.  The dance audition will take about 40 minutes.  You will before in pairs in front of the directors at the end of the 40 minutes.

Call backs will be announced Saturday evening around 8:00p via email only. If you are called back, you will be asked to read and sing the sides found below.
