About Internships @ TNP
The Naples Players is searching for motivated, confident, and creative young theatre artists to fill the various internship programs offered throughout the year: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Full Season. Interns will work closely with the professional full-time staff members in mounting the productions available during the time of the program.
Unlike most programs around the country, housing located within walking distance to the theatre and scenic downtown Naples, a weekly stipend, as well as design opportunities for qualified applicants. Because of the unique qualities of the program, participation is highly competitive – with nearly 300 applicants every year.
Production Intern Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Full-time, part time, or recent graduate from a college or university
- Majoring or minoring in Theatre or Theatre Education, or applicable degree
- Minimum of 1 semester under degree
- Basic knowledge in area of interest
Compensation for College Internship
- $300/week
- Housing at Bellasera Resort Hotel – 3 blocks from the theater
- Free Tickets to Preview Nights and shows throughout the program
- Specialty workshops for professional development
- Networking with guest artists
Junior Intern Requirements
- 14 to 19 years of age
- Enrolled in High School or transitioning into College
- Participated in a Middle School or High School theatre, or equivalent arts program, or has demonstrated a strong interest
- Interest and a willingness to learn and engage in technical, administrative, and educational theatre
- Able to commit 10-15 hours a week.
- Currently only accepting applicants who are local to the Naples Area

Internship Departments
Costumes
Department Heads: Dot Auchmoody (Resident Costume Designer), Mollie LaTorre (Costume Shop Supervisor), & MaryAnne McKerrow (Education Costume Designer)
Available: Full Season, Fall, Spring, Summer
The costume shop intern will be responsible for the creation of costume for TNP and KidzAct, through building, buying, or renting. Interns will work closely with the department heads and lead volunteers either in the shop, or costuming them for each production.
Education
Department Head: Nick Dalton (Director of Education & Enrichment), Craig Price (Director of Community Education & Wellness), Summer Pliskow (Education Programs Coordinator), & Maya Kleinsorger (Education Assistant)
Available: Full Season, Summer
Education Interns will work with the Education Department in a combination of ways: learning the administrative and creative side of traditional performing arts classes, coordinating events/community outreach programs, inclusive (ESE) classes, wellness classes, creating accessibility materials, and more.
Lights
Department Heads: Chris Riley (Head of Lighting)
Available: Full Season, Fall, Spring, Summer
The lighting intern will assist with with electrics, designing, and programming TNP and KidzAct show during the course of their program. Interns will work one-on-one with the department heads to create the shows and maintain the current lighting stock.
Props
Department Head: Amy Hughes (Props Director)
Available: Full Season, Fall, Spring, Summer
The prop intern will assist in pulling, building, buying, or renting rehearsal and performance props needed for TNP shows. Interns will work with the department head and volunteers in creating, maintaining, and cataloguing the current stock.
Scenic
Department Heads: Jason Wagaman (Technical Director) & Mike Santos (Resident Scenic Artist & Designer)
Available: Full Season, Fall, Spring, Summer
The scene shop intern will be responsible for helping draft, construct, and paint all TNP and KidzAct shows during the course of the program. Interns will work closely with the department heads and lead volunteers to mount each production.
Sound
Department Head: Bradley Van Houten (Head of Sound)
Available: Full Season, Fall, Spring, Summer
The sound intern will assist with designing, engineering, and mixing TNP shows and KidzAct musicals. Interns will work one-on-one with the department head to create the shows and maintain the current sound stock.
Stage Management
Department Head: Cole Butcher (Production Stage Manager)
Available: Full Season, Summer
Stage Managers will work with the Production Stage Manager to oversee each individual production of the TNP season from concept to close. SM interns will also be a part of the audition process and participate in administrative duties.
