What is ARTrx?

ArtRX is an Arts In Health program designed to transform the care and clinical settings of our community through the transformative power of the arts. This initiative is a unique collaboration between The Naples Players and NCH to promote healing, joy, and wellbeing within our community in times and spaces we need it most.

Combining TNP’s mission of building community through exceptional access to the power of theatre with NCH’s mission to help everyone live a longer, happier, healthier life, this innovative partnership will bring the performing, visual, and literature arts into healthcare environments, enriching the lives of patients, staff, and volunteers alike.

At its heart, ArtRX is a community movement that engages local artists, volunteers, and residents to give back through creativity. With over 50% of hospitals in America utilizing some form of arts for healing, ArtRX is an important initiative for Southwest Florida communities to increase personal, social, and cultural wellbeing. We are honored to serve as a local model for how healthcare and the arts can unite to create healthier and happier lives.

Dedicated to providing a creative outlet for healthcare professionals at NCH. We provide a series of arts based recreational and training programs to promote joy, connection, skill building, and overall foster a better work environment. By engaging staff in arts classes and workshops, theatre outings, public performances, and community projects such as “Healing Voices” ArtRx is focused on building community and culture through the arts.

TNP Actors - NCH Sim

Training and Development

Actors from the Naples Players serve as standardized patients for roleplaying simulations at NCH. Our actors bring professional quality performance skills, and create more authentic, realistic scenarios for staff to practice responding effectively to complex and high-pressure situations in their field. We also provide staff team building, public speaking and communication, and empathy based creative workshops for skill development amongst staff.
