Glenn Vangolen
Mr. Vangolen’s career at Occidental spanned over 40 years. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President of Business Support for Occidental Petroleum. In this role, Mr. Vangolen oversaw the Human Resources and Administration; Information Technology; Flight Operations; Health, Environment, Safety and Security; Government Relations and Corporate Secretary functions of the company. He served as Chairman of the Board for Western Midstream Partners, LP. He also led Occidental’s innovation and culture efforts to remain ahead of the industry in technology and workforce collaboration.
He previously served as Senior Vice President, Middle East. based in Abu Dhabi and was responsible for managing international business development in Oman, Qatar, UAE, Iraq, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen, Kuwait and Libya. Mr. Vangolen represented Occidental on the boards of Al Hosn Gas Development Company, ADNOC Sour Gas, Dolphin Energy and Tatweer Petroleum.
Prior to that, Mr. Vangolen served many roles in his career such as General Manager for Occidental of Oman, Vice President of Worldwide Engineering, Vice President of Operations in Ecuador and served on board of Occidental’s Vanyogoneft Russian joint venture. Mr. Vangolen has also managed worldwide technical employee development and competency training and was involved in many of the company’s re-engineering efforts. He also led the integration of Anadarko Petroleum and played a key role in the integration of the Altura Energy, Elk Hills and Vintage acquisitions.
Mr. Vangolen served on the board of Houston’s Alley Theatre, the advisory board of University of Houston Engineering college and worked closely with the Hoston Astros Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Process Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, Executive MBA from UCLA and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
