CATS is a groundbreaking musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats. First staged in 1981, it follows a tribe of Jellicle cats as they gather for the Jellicle Ball, where one cat will be chosen to ascend to the Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a new life. The show is famous for its stunning choreography, mesmerizing music, and memorable songs like “Memory,” which has become an anthem of the stage. With its mix of whimsical, eccentric characters and touching themes of redemption and renewal, CATS has captivated audiences worldwide, becoming one of the longest-running musicals in Broadway history.
