ABOUT MOANA JR AUDITIONS

SPECIAL CASTING NOTE:
As with all of their shows, MTI & DISNEY encourages casting that represents the community in which we live. However, our production will deeply benefit from a cast that includes a variety of races, genders, abilities, and body types – and we will be approaching casting with care and an open mind. Students of color are encouraged to audition to ensure a well rounded performance.
Producing a musical like Moana Jr. is a wonderful way for students to engage with stories and cultures from around the world. At the same time, we want to ensure a respectful representation of the peoples and cultures celebrated in the production.
We have adopted Disney and MTI’s best practices and guidelines for respectfully celebrating Oceanic culture with students of every background.
We’re also thrilled that hula Kona Garcia of Hālau Hula O Nā Liko A’o Puna will join us for a few days to choreograph several dances and to teach us about Pacific Island culture!
LOCATION:
Auditions will still be held at The Naples Players Sugden Community Theatre at 701 5th Avenue South, Naples 34102.  Check in will be in the Lobby of the theatre.
THE AUDITION:
Auditioners are asked to prepare pre-selected songs from Moana Jr found here: Moana Jr Music Sides

Please note you/your student may be asked to sing additional music or read portions of the script during the audition.  There will be no call backs.

All auditioners will be measured by our costume shop when they enter the building.

The entire audition process may take up to 1 hour – and parents/guardians should be nearby to pick-up their students as soon as they are finished.

Casting calls will begin on Monday, 13 July 2020 and will take a couple of days to complete.

Virtual auditions will be accepted.  Please send a link to you/your student’s audition to [email protected] before 5:00p on July 11th.
