By Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss
“Six: Teen Edition” is a vibrant, high-energy musical that takes the popular show Six and adapts it for a younger audience. In this student-produced version, middle school students will audition for the roles of the six wives of King Henry VIII, each vying for the title of lead singer in a pop concert-style competition. The musical centers on the wives’ struggles with Henry and the empowerment they gain as they share their stories through catchy, contemporary pop music. Through this adaptation, students will gain valuable theatrical experience, learning firsthand about performance, stage management, choreography, scenic design, costume design, and more. This marks a groundbreaking moment for The Naples Players, as it will be the first production entirely student-led within The Naples Players Academy. With a creative team made up of high school students, this opportunity offers both performers and non-performers a hands-on learning experience in all aspects of theatre production.
