DESCRIPTIONS:
Spring Line Up
CHANCE ENCOUNTERS (Sunday, 9 March)
Alphabet Soup (3 women & 2 men) – The Anytown Community Theater Play Selection Committee is meeting to prepare for their annual Festival of New Plays. They meet to write a Call for Submissions notice, the first step in attracting Playwrights who might submit their work for consideration.
An Evening at the U-Drop Inn (1 woman, 1 man, 2 any) – While working the front desk at a motel, Annie learns that there is always more than meets the eye.
Chocolate (1 woman & 1 man) – A detective takes a report from a woman whose husband has just disappeared – with a surprising (and tasty) twist!
In the Beginning (1 woman, 1 man, 1 any) – Adam and Eve visit The Garden of Eden Bar and Grill, where they are waited on by none other than the serpent himself.
Infrequent Fliers (2 woman, 2 any) – A full flight forces a full-price passenger to sit next to a “no frills” seat mate from Hell and her alleged service dog, both of whom test goodwill, ethics, patience, and the airline’s rules. As the flight progresses, the impropriety escalates until the flight attendant has the last word.
OUT ON A LIMB (Sunday, 27 April)
Bag of Swag (2 any) – A policeman asks a burgler for help locating any criminal activity. The burgler must be quick on his feet to throw suspicion off of himself
What’s on TV (2 women, 2 men, 2 any) – The narrator is trying to watch four totally different television shows that are all airing at the same time, so she keeps switching back and forth among the separate shows, which results in a pretty surprising and amusing juxtaposition of program material.
The Last Holdout (1 woman, 1 man) – Dorothy, an administrator at the Senior Center, attempts to quell a protest from its residents – finally finding common ground with the last holdout, Ivan.
The Valiant (1 woman, 3 men, 1 any) – The Valiant tells the story of James Dyke, a confessed killer who has been sentenced to die.
