Every 70 minutes in America someone under the age of 25 dies due to gun violence. This is not normal. This is not acceptable. It’s time we say ENOUGH!
Naples Players Education is proud to be participating in the national theatre project #ENOUGH: Plays to End Gun Violence.
Students ages 13-18 are encouraged to submit a 10-minute play about gun violence to both the national competition as well as our local Naples Players Competition. Please note that the play can have any format, but it must read under 10 minutes and have 6 or fewer characters.
The national finalists will receive $500 and be flown to a workshop production of their play performed by professional actors at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Their play will also receive staged readings across the US on December 14, 2020. Participating theatres include The Naples Players, Berkeley Rep, and The Goodman Theatre.
On December 14, 2020 The Naples Players will present staged readings of the national finalists and two local finalists. All staged readings at The Naples Players will be performed and directed by teens.
To support local teens and their submissions, TNP is hosting three FREE playwriting workshops for teens in March. Workshops are slated for March 10, March 21, and March 26. Space is limited to 8 participants per course, please learn more and sign up now to reserve your seat.
