Sharing in the Theatre Family
Getting to Know Diane & Sid Davis
Diane and Sid Davis enjoy sharing with The Naples Players. Diane teaches, acts, and works alongside staff and volunteers in shaping the direction of the organization. Diane embraces the sense of belonging she experiences in teaching students at The Naples Players.
“I enjoy gratification and the pleasure of seeing actors in my classes grow in directions they hadn’t expected, acquiring self-confidence, and learning to trust themselves and me,” Diane said. “We have our ups and downs, our goals, and it’s all about everyone joining together to make it the best it can be.”
Meanwhile Sid builds sets, served on the Board, and hosts preview events for membership.
“It feels good to participate in an organization that is for the community and by the community,” Sid said. “It’s been especially rewarding to create sets and see the end results on stage, enjoying the camaraderie and friendships through the years.”
Diane and Sid are impressed by The Naples Players’ achievements over the years.
“We feel that The Naples Players has very high standards—the theatre has terrific talent in tech and theatre and has achieved artistic recognition nationally as a top-notch community theater,” Diane said. “And we’re really impressed how The Naples Players has engaged the community to develop programs that have meaningful outcomes.”
Although Diane and Sid enjoy sharing with The Naples Players, they also enjoy what the organization shares with the community.
“The number of volunteers, the KidzAct program, the scholarships, the forward-moving visions for the future and inspiring leadership are just some of the reasons we are thrilled to share our lives with The Naples Players.”
