Since joining as a volunteer in September 2024, Sergio has brought fresh energy and a unique artistic eye to both our Costume Shop and Scene Shop. His dedication, curiosity, and collaborative spirit have already made a big impact, and we can’t wait to see what he helps create next!
Originally from Colombia, Sergio holds a degree in Architecture and another in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design.
“I was always intrigued about the theater world,” he shares. “It seems fashion and architecture intersect here.”
It was that intersection—and a lifelong appreciation for dramatic storytelling—that drew him to The Naples Players. His first production was working on costumes for Young Frankenstein, a memorable introduction to the world of theater production. From that moment, he was hooked.
What keeps Sergio coming back? “The creative nature of the place,” he says. But more than that, it’s the energy and dedication of the people around him.
“I get inspired by the work and energized by the commitment that everybody shows to all productions.”
Volunteering at TNP doesn’t just tap into Sergio’s talents—it inspires other parts of his life, fueling his imagination and passion for design. He credits TNP with being a space where he can connect, collaborate, and contribute to something meaningful.
When he’s not helping bring productions to life, Sergio enjoys exploring all things design and theater-related. His favorite show? The Phantom of the Opera, a classic that beautifully blends architecture, costume, and storytelling.
Sergio’s presence at TNP is a reminder of the many paths that lead to the theater—and the rich perspectives that volunteers bring with them. We’re proud to spotlight Sergio Duque this month and celebrate the creativity and commitment he brings to The Naples Players family.
