KidzAct: La Comedia of Errors Auditions
Auditions for La Comedia of Errors will be Saturday, 13 January at 12:00p. If you can not arrive at 12:00p please email Cole Butcher at [email protected] to establish an arrival time. Auditions are free and walk-ins are always welcome! We are holding this second round of auditions to complete the cast. We will be auditioning for the following characters:
Track 1: Sheriff Solinus (M or F): American monolingual English speaker, old school Southern Sheriff, is straight to the point though biased, tired of being Sheriff but waiting out to retirement, dry sense of humor
Track 2: Deputy (M or F): Bilingual American, learned Spanish in school, wears heart on sleeve but doesn’t want to make waves, is constantly weighing both sides of any situation, would never want to offend anyone
Track 3: Barkeep (M or F): American monolingual English speaker, unofficial peacekeeper in community, always wants to help, great sense of humor
Las audiciones para La Comedia de los Errores serán el Sábado, 13 Enero a las 12:00pm. Si no puede llegar a las 12:00pm, envíe un correo electrónico a Cole Butcher en [email protected] para establecer una hora de llegada. ¡Las audiciones son gratuitas y las personas sin cita previa siempre son bienvenidas! Estamos realizando esta segunda ronda de audiciones para completar el elenco. Haremos audiciones para los siguientes personajes:
Pista 1: Sheriff Solinus (M o F): Estadounidense que habla inglés monolingüe, Sheriff sureño de la vieja escuela, va directo al grano aunque parcial, cansado de ser Sheriff pero esperando a jubilarse, sentido del humor seco.
Pista 2: Diputado (M o F): Estadounidense bilingüe, aprendió español en la escuela, tiene el corazón en la manga pero no quiere causar problemas, sopesa constantemente ambos lados de cualquier situación, nunca querría ofender a nadie.
Pista 3: Barkeep (M o F): hablante estadounidense monolingüe de inglés, pacificador no oficial en la comunidad, siempre quiere ayudar, gran sentido del humor.

La Comedia of Errors
La Comedia of Errors is a 90-minute bilingual adaptation by Lydia G. Garcia and Bill Rauch of one of William Shakespeare‘s zaniest comedies. This unique, intimate experience emphasizes the connection between humans. A show for all ages, La Comedia will be performed in true Shakespearean street performer style with minimal props, scenery, technology and fifteen actors will create a whole town of comic characters. La Comedia of Errors will be performed all over Southwest Florida and is TNP’s premiere of a truly bilingual work of art. Whether you speak English, Spanish or both, you will love this hilarious show!
La Comedia of Errors es una adaptacíon bilingüe de 90 minutos realizada por Lydia G. García y Bill Rauch de una de las comedias más estrafalarias de William Shakespeare. Esta experiencia única e íntima enfatiza la conexíon entre los humanos. Un espectáculo para todas las edades, La Comedia se presentará al más puro estilo de los artistas callejeros de Shakespeare con accesorios mínimos, escenografía, tecnología y quince actores crearán toda una ciudad de personajes cómicos. La Comedia of Errors se presentará en todo el suroeste de Florida y es el estreno de TNP de una obra de arte verdaderamente bilingüe. Ya sea que hables inglés, español o ambos, ¡te encantará este divertido espectáculo!
Done with slapstick humor and in a Telenovela style, this boisterous tale of mistaken identities involves two sets of identical twins accidentally separated at birth. A merchant from Mexico (Egéon) is separated from his family because of a plane crash, which lands his wife and two sons in the U.S. while he and the other two halves of twins are deported back to Mexico. Egéon has once again been detained 33 years later as he crosses the border looking for his sons who left 15 years prior to look for their long-lost brothers. In true Shakespeare comedic fashion, they arrive in the same town where their father has been arrested, which is of course the home of their identical counterparts. A somewhat sympathetic sheriff has given Egéon until sunset to come up with the bail that will allow him to stay in the U.S. Which is just enough time for the four brothers, a wife, a sister-in-law, and a number of townspeople to become thoroughly embroiled in mixed identities.
Realizada con humor bufonesco y al estilo de una telenovela, esta bulliciosa historia de identidades equivocadas involucra a dos pares de gemelos idénticos separados accidentalmente al nacer. Un comerciante de México (Egéon) es separado de su familia debido a un accidente aéreo, que lleva a su esposa y sus dos hijos a Estados Unidos, mientras que él y las otras dos mitades de gemelos son deportados de regreso a México. Egéon ha sido detenido una vez más 33 años después, mientras cruzaba la frontera en busca de sus hijos, que habían partido 15 años antes para buscar a sus hermanos perdidos hace mucho tiempo. Al más puro estilo cómico de Shakespeare, llegan a la misma ciudad donde arrestaron a su padre, que por supuesto es el hogar de sus homólogos idénticos. Un sheriff algo comprensivo le ha dado a Egéon hasta el atardecer para pagar la fianza que le permitirá permanecer en Estados Unidos.
