The Naples Players will present
The Rocky Horror Show, live onstage October 12 – November 6, in Blackburn Hall at Sugden Community Theatre in downtown Naples.
This rocking musical is a cult classic. Crazy characters inhabit this humorous and provocative tribute to the cheesy science fiction and horror B movie genre. The story follows the innocent and newly-engaged Brad and Janet as they get caught in a storm and find themselves at the mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter and his motley misfits who are anything but innocent.
Dawn Lebrecht Fornara will direct and choreograph and Charles Fornara will musical direct. This is the same talented team that headed up the successful summer musical, Catch Me If You Can. Please note, this show is rated R for mature humor, strong language, sexual content and partial nudity and is not be suitable for children.
Transylvanian leader and mad scientist, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, will be played by Mark Vanagas. Vanagas, a TNP Life Member award winner, has been seen in twenty-two Naples Players productions since 2002, including 42nd Street, The Lion in Winter, Cabaret, Red, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, The Mystery of Irma Vep and The Producers.
Jasmine Vizena will be playing Janet Weiss, the musical’s nominated “good-girl.”. Vizena has been seen on the TNP stage belting tunes in Annie, andShout! The Mod Musical, and played the role of Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest.
Brad Majors, Janet’s fiance and the play’s wholesome boy next door, will be portrayed by Jesse Hughes. A newcomer to The Naples Players, Hughes will be returning to the stage after an eight year acting hiatus. Moving to Naples from Kansas 3 years ago, Hughes performed in numerous plays and musicals in both high school and college.
