Naples Players new Artistic Director Bryce Alexander has a vision for great theatre in Naples Florida

November 18th, 2016

Dave Elliot speaks with The Naples Player’s new Artistic Director about his creative vision for The Players

Southwest Florida radio personality Dave Elliott speaks with Bryce Alexander the new Artistic Director for The Naples Players. Alexander replaces Dallas Dunnagan who retired from the Players after 16 years as their Artistic Director. Bryce and his wife Katherine are from Denver, Colorado, where he was the Artistic Director of the Phamaly Theatre Company. Under his direction, the Phamaly Theatre Company became a national leader for inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Receiving special praise from the National Endowment for the Arts, Bryce took Phamaly to new artistic heights, creating programs to connect with nearly 10,000 children every season.

Bryce Alexander is thrilled to have found his new home at The Naples Players. While Coney Island Christmas is his first production at The Naples Players, he has worked at theatres around the country including the Guthrie Theatre, Denver Center Theatre Company, Colorado Shakes, At-Hand NYC, and many more.

He comes from Phamaly Theatre Company in Denver, Colorado where he helped to change the national theatre landscape through a commitment to connecting local community organizations to high-quality theatre. With a reputation in community engagement, accessible programming, organizational development, and high-quality production standards, he is excited to usher TNP into the next generation.

His vision for the future includes building on the organization’s amazing foundation to increase partnerships throughout Southwest Florida, invest in training programs for volunteers and performers, amplify youth education initiatives, create sustainable and engaging new programs and productions, and further cementing the sterling national reputation of The Naples Players to enrich, educate, and entertain.
