Our Plan to Move Forward:
The Naples Players COVID-19 Advisory Council recently met to discuss the best and most prudent way for the theatre to move forward during this crisis. What was immediately clear was the collective desire to keep our community safe, while fully considering the economic impacts that each decision brings.
What is not immediately clear is what tomorrow will bring, and as a result we have made some shifts in our programming.
NEW PERFORMANCE SCHEDULES
Calendar Girls has been rescheduled and included at the end of our upcoming season: Apr 28 – May 23, 2021. The Box Office will contact current ticket holders and subscribers to arrange seating. New Tickets can be purchased with subscriptions – individual tickets on-sale in September.

We have also rescheduled this summer’s production of The Wedding Singer to next summer (June 23 – July 25, 2021). Current ticket holders will have the value of their seats placed into their accounts for future redemption for this or other productions; or receive a tax-deductible donation receipt for the value of their seats. Tickets for this show will be included with subscription renewals in February 2021.
To accommodate the added productions, we have adjusted next season’s production of An Ideal Husband into the Tobye Studio May 19 – June 13, 2021. Current ticket holders for this production can choose to get re-seated in the new performance dates; or receive a tax-deductible donation receipt for the value of their seats. New Tickets can be purchased with subscriptions – individual tickets on-sale in September.
We are also excited to announce that we will be working to create virtual performances of the KidzAct productions of As You Like It and Pride and Prejudice, and are working with our partners on additional summer titles featuring the young artists of The Naples Players’ KidzAct program. Details will be announced soon.
We’re optimistic that we will be able to resume live performances as scheduled this fall with the raucous comedy Boeing, Boeing (opens September 30th). Of-course, we will keep you posted as those dates get closer.
DON’T WAIT TO RENEW
We rely on season ticket renewals to fund many of our shows and classes, and scholarships through the season. After announcing an incredible line up for 2020-2021 we saw a huge uptick in season ticket renewals, that have since slowed.
We promise an incredible 2020-2021 season, but we urge current season ticket holders to renew their subscriptions now. Please don’t wait.
A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR YOU
Comprised of cast members from TNP’s production of Les Miserables, “One Day More” – as featured in the video above – is the final anthem at the end of Act 1. Full of hope, caution, and a little anxiety, it is a perfect metaphor for our current attitude.
Our amazing volunteer artists put this tribute together in your honor, as we march towards a new beginning. Will you join in!? We need your support more than ever.
THANK YOU
Since moving to Naples 4 years ago, I have been constantly reminded of the generous spirit of our small town; and I have every confidence in knowing that we can all work together to help keep our families safe, our businesses sustainable, and our integrity intact.
All my best,
Bryce Alexander
