Learning Accommodations for Children and Adults

Inclusive Theatre Classes

Each class is specifically tailored for people with disabilities

The Naples Players (TNP) is dedicated to providing high-quality arts access to every member of our community – including the important and growing number of people with disabilities.

Designed and taught by professional therapists and teachers, each class is tailored to individuals with disabilities to ensure proper accommodation, enjoyable classes, and meaningful exercises. Separate classes are available to both students and adults, making each class an important and caring social environment, as well. Many classes are also open to caretakers and siblings.

The Naples Players is also thrilled to work with the STARability Academy to provide classes and job experience each week. Paired with The Naples Player’s Sensory Friendly performances, individuals with disabilities can access the arts from backstage to on-stage!

Improv for people with Parkinson’s

Event Phone: Craig Price, 239-434-7340 ext. 103

  • Improv for Parkinson’s
    Tuesdays, April 17 – May 22
    10:30 am – 12:00 pm

This class is Improv for people with Parkinson’s Disease and their caregivers. Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a movement disorder that affects up to 1 million people in the US and doctors diagnose 60,000 new cases each year. Improvisational Theatre Games, based on the work of Viola Spolin, are being used clinically over the world. Improv classes are being offered for stress management, coping with life challenges, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. Neuroscience tells us that play, when combined with the trust building of improv experiences, builds “pro-social brains that know how to interact with others in positive ways.” This is important for adults who are dealing with significant physical and emotional difficulties.
