Inclusive Theatre Classes
The Naples Players is dedicated to providing high-quality arts access to every member of our community – including the important and growing number of people with disabilities.
Designed and taught by professional therapists and teachers, each class is tailored to individuals with disabilities to ensure proper accommodation, enjoyable classes, and meaningful exercises. Separate classes are available to both students and adults, making each class an important and caring social environment, as well. Many classes are also open to caretakers and siblings.
The Naples Players is also thrilled to work with the STARability Academy to provide classes and job experience each week. Paired with The Naples Player’s Sensory Friendly performances, individuals with disabilities can access the arts from backstage to on-stage!
Actors will learn teamwork, patience, sensory awareness, and communication through emotion-oriented, confidence-building theatre games. Classes will take place in a noise and light-sensitive theatre with a quiet waiting area for parents and students. The class is led by theatre professionals who have 20 years of dedicated experience creating fun, welcoming, and safe classroom environments for all students.
Acting & Improv for ASD & SPD is tailored to the specific needs and interests of each student. Participants will receive personal attention and are encouraged to demonstrated their ideas in their own unique way. A showcase will be presented on the last day of class.
This class is generously underwritten by a grant from Suncoast Credit Union to significantly reduce tuition cost.
