The Naples Players (TNP) is bringing new meaning to the phrase, “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players” with a final show of their 70th season – Clue: On Stage.
With performances from May 1 – May 19 at Naples United Church of Christ in McSpadden Hall, Clue: On Stage, much like the board game from which it derived, is good fun. Filled with murder, mystery, and mayhem, this popular cult classic film-inspired whodunit will have audiences on the edge of their seats and guessing to the very end.
On a dark and stormy night, six unique guests, a butler, and a maid assemble for a dinner party at the home of Mr. Boddy. When the host turns up dead, it becomes clear that no one is safe. Watch all of your favorite Clue characters come to life on stage as they race to figure out who the killer is. Was it Mrs. Peacock in the kitchen with a candlestick? Perhaps it was Mr. Green in the billiard room with the wrench?
“Every generation has their version of Clue – the board game, the movie, and now the stage play. Each iteration brings its own version of joy and mystery to homes and families around the nation, landing Clue as a family favorite,” says CEO and Executive Artistic Director, Bryce Alexander. “While we anticipate moving back into our home, we wanted to bring our own version of that very joy and mystery to our family here in Naples.”
Director James Duggan is joined by the following team of industry professionals: scenic designer Michael Santos; lighting designer Chris Riley; sound designer Sean McGinley; costume designer Dot Auchmoody; prop director Amy Hughes; stage manager Taylor Matthews; and assistant stage managers Nancy Hayer, Judy Scribner, and Nicholas Young. James will direct an all-star cast of Naples favorites including (in alphabetical order): BOB CAPPETTA, KELSEY COSS as Yvette, KATIE CROSS at Miss Scarlet, NATHAN EICHHORN, MARCUS DEAN FULLER as Mr. Green, CAROLINA GRAU, JEN HART as Mrs. White, JON HART as Professor Plum, JENNIFER MANCE as Mrs. Peacock, MICHAEL SANTOS as Colonel Mustard, and MARK VANAGAS as Wadsworth.
From May 1 – 19, 2024, Clue: On Stage will be TNP’s final offsite production before they move back home to their newly renovated theater on 5th Ave S.
