I Never Saw Another Butterfly

I Never Saw Another Butterfly by Celeste Raspanti. This production will participate in Butterflies of Hope and Remembrance, a year-long initiative throughout Southwest Florida comprised of special events and educational programs commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the end of WWII and the Liberation of the Nazi Concentration Camps.

In a beautiful valley of the Czech Republic lies an ancient star-shaped fortress. In 1941, it became the infamous concentration camp Terezin. As people were tortured, piled onto trains to Auschwitz, and starvation and typhus swept through the camp, a quiet rebellion began: a secret art school for children, led by prisoner and famed painter Freidl Dicker-Brandeis. Her young student Raja hid more than 4500 works of art from the Nazis. I Never Saw Another Butterfly is a story of hope, defiance, and the courage to create beauty in the midst of horror.
